CASSIE'S PAGE

Cassie is a 16hh Thoroughbred bay mare born 7th April 1994 by Cisto out of our Jarva (she is Jarvas 3rd foal)
She is a maiden mare and expecting her first foal around 14th June 2008
She is infoal to Kalevan Mystic Pride a 12.2hh Welsh Section B cremello (double cream dilute chesnut) stallion.
We are hoping for a nice sportspony out of her and her foal will either be Buckskin (Dun) or Palomino because she carries both Black (from her bay sire) and Red (from her chesnut dam) genes..she is homozygous for the bay agouti gene which turns black horses bay so she will not have a smokey black foal (single cream dilute black) only a buckskin (single cream dilute bay) or a palomino (single cream dilute chesnut) depending on whether she passes the red or black gene to her foal.
Cassie is definitely looking after her unborn foal as she keeps herself well away from the others :-)..she used to be number two at the gate to come in but now she stands at the back keeping her tummy safe :-)

Cassie foaled a beautiful palomino colt at 6.30am 3rd June 2008.

We have named him Goldie after my Welsh sec B pony I owned as a child :-)

Cassie has been an excellent first time mum.
